The museum hosts a permanent exhibition designed by Bj\u00f6rn G. Bj\u00f6rnsson on the history of cod fishery in Iceland. The aim of the museum is to document and preserve the heritage of this important industry troughout history, the town of Grindav\u00edk being the capital of cod fishery in Iceland. The characteristics of the museum – embedded in the surroundings of the town\u00b4s port – are its plainness and clarity. The first annex of the museum was opened in 2002.<\/span><\/p>\n
